Kari McGregor grew up in southern California and Colorado where she excelled at high school and club softball. She played NCAA softball and graduated from the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs.

Upon graduation and marriage, she and her family relocated back to California to the San Diego/Camp Pendleton area, where her husband was stationed.
